[haw-info] NB!: New Resources Series from HAW on Palestine-Israel
This series of pamphlets, which are to be available to teachers, activists, and others for free download and printing (under a Creative Commons copyright agreement), aims to offer historical context for contemporary conflicts, in order to deepen the understanding of participants from every side of the conflict, and so ultimately help lead to a satisfactory resolution. Our goal is to cover each topic in a scholarly fashion, with an eye to fairness, and to fidelity and attention to historical sources (which are cited). The first pamphlet in the series is now available to read and download: Alice Lynd with the assistance of Staughton Lynd, International Human Rights Law: Violations by Israel and the Problem of Enforcement. You can read and download the 32-page pamphlet at http://historiansagainstwar.org/resources/InternationalHumanRights.pdf
Historians Against the War believes the study of the past is essential to the resolution of our differences in the present.
If you are a historian interested in contributing to the series, which is being organized and edited by HAW's Palestine-Israel Working Group, please contact Van Gosse (vgosse@fandm.edu) or Jeri Fogel (fogelj@mail.montclair.edu) to discuss further.
