[haw-info] HAW Notes 1/10/13: April 5-7 conference update; links to recent articles of interest

To members and friends of Historians Against the War,

On-line registration is now open for the April 5-7 HAW conference on "The New Faces of War" in Baltimore, co-sponsored by the Towson University College of Liberal Arts.  The conference website is at http://www.historiansagainstwar.org/conf2013.  Registration is $50 regular or $30 student or low-income. 

The keynote speakers on Friday evening, April 5 are Alfred McCoy of the University of Wisconsin and former military officer and diplomat Ann Wright of Voices of Conscience.  Among those who will speak on Saturday and Sunday, either in plenary sessions or on breakout panels, are Rashid Khalidi of Columbia University, Marilyn Young of NYU, Peter Kuznick of American University, Nick Turse of TomDispatch.com, ex-CIA official Ray McGovern, Irene Gendzier of Boston University, Judith Le Blanc of Peace Action, David Swanson of Roots Action, Jerry Lembcke of College of the Holy Cross, Vinay Lal of UCLA, Paul Joseph of Tufts University, Jose Vasquez of Iraq Veterans Against the War, and Carolyn "Rusti" Eisenberg of Hofstra University.  A complete program is in the process of formation.
