Obama's Iraq War May Last Longer than Bush's Iraq War

At least that is what Thomas Ricks, author of Fiasco and The Gamble: General David Petraeus and the American Military Adventure in Iraq, 2006-2008, said on the The Jon Stewart show:

"General Odierno says he would like to see 35,000 troops there (Iraq) in 2015. What that means is that we may be just halfway through this thing.”

This is the kind of posting I don't quite "get." I could understand posting a review of the book from an historian's perspective. But do we need to be another outlet for Comedy Central? Is that where we get our news?

Mark,

I don't "get" your inability to "get" this. A bestselling author who described Bush's war as a fiasco now says that Obama -- who promised to end that war -- will more than double the length of it, and you don't see this as significant or newsworthy?
